TERMS & CONDITIONS

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.

Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

We aim to deliver your custom rod as quickly as possible, either by insured next-day courier or by arrangement for collection from our workshop in Hampshire, UK.

Build Times

Custom rod build times typically range from 4 - 6 weeks, depending on component availability. Delays can occur if specific parts are out of stock. We will inform you of any anticipated delays at the time of ordering and can suggest in-stock alternatives if required. Lead times are beyond our full control due to supplier stock levels. By placing an order, you accept this open timeframe.

Payment and Cancellations

All custom orders require payment in full (or a 50% non-refundable deposit if agreed) upfront. Orders become non-cancellable and non-refundable 48 hours after payment. If a deposit is paid, the balance is due upon completion. Failure to pay the balance within 2 months of notification that the rod is ready will result in order cancellation and forfeiture of the deposit. Rods not collected within 6 months of completion, if collection has been agreed become the property of Hampshire Custom Rods.

Payment constitutes acceptance of these terms. If the terms or potential build times are not acceptable, please do not proceed with an order.

We will contact you when your rod is ready for dispatch or collection.

Quality Control

Every rod is built to exacting standards with rigorous inspection of blanks and components before, during, and after construction.

Hand-built rods, especially sets, are matched as closely as possible but will show minor natural variations in materials (cork, Duplon, carbon weave, etc.). These are inherent to handmade products and high-quality carbon blanks. Cosmetic marks sometimes referred to as “carbon freckles” are normal in carbon materials, particularly on matt finishes, and do not affect performance.Blanks and components are checked against manufacturer and our own strict quality criteria. Only items that pass both are used. Rods are only released once they fully meet our quality standards. In the very rare event that an issue is identified after delivery that we agree falls below our standards, we will rectify it at no labour cost.

Warranty

Hampshire Custom Rods provide a 12-month warranty to the original owner on our workmanship under normal fishing use, in addition to your statutory rights.

The warranty covers defects in our labour only. It does not cover:

  • Components supplied by third-party manufacturers

  • Damage from misuse, accidents, fair wear and tear, or abnormal conditions

  • ALPS metal reel seats coming loose or any blank breakage at the reel seat location (repair available at cost)

If a component proves defective, we will replace it under the manufacturer’s terms where applicable, but a labour charge will apply for refitting.

We reserve the right to repair or replace parts as necessary to restore the rod to full use

Returns for warranty assessment are at the customer’s expense and must include full contact details. Return postage (if applicable) will also be charged to the customer unless collected.

We strive to handle any valid warranty claim promptly and fairly.
